Zara Lawler

Zara Lawler earned her Master’s from Juilliard studying with Carol Wincenc and Sam Baron. Her Suzuki teacher trainers have been David Gerry, Noelle Perrin, Meret Bitticks and Wendy Stern. She teaches at the Manhattan School of Music Precollege, at Silver Music, and in her own private studio. In 2018, she was co-director of the Suzuki Association of the Americas Flute Performing Ensemble. As a performer, Lawler is known for her adventurous programming combining music with dance and theater, including The Flute on its Feet, and massed flute events at the Guggenheim Museum and Central Park in New York City and at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. Her duo with percussionist Paul Fadoul released their second album, Clickable, in 2020 on the Parma label. Lawler + Fadoul’s first album, Prelude Cocktail, was a survey of four centuries of prelude repertoire, with a few fugues thrown in for good measure. zaralawler.com and lawlerandfadoul.com
