Viviana Peters
Violin Teacher
Viviana Peters is a Swiss-American violinist who began studying the violin at the age of three, and has been playing ever since. Her mom, Sara, was her first teacher, and under her guidance she completed the first four Suzuki books before moving on to study with her current teacher, Matthew Zerweck. Viviana has also participated in lessons and masterclasses with Elissa Koljonen, Paul Kantor, Chad Hoopes, Angelo Xiang Yu, Pavel Vernikov, Svetlana Markarova, and Gyula Stuler, and is mentored by Charles Castleman. Viviana loves both solo and chamber music, and performed Mozart’s 5th violin concerto alongside the San Antonio Sinfonietta in 2019 and Vivaldi Double Concerto alongside her teacher, Mr. Zerweck, in 2021. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she and her sister, Ingrid, performed over 30 outdoor concerts in the front yards of family and friends. In February 2022, Viviana was accepted into the Tibor Varga Winter Music Academy, traveling to Switzerland and studying with professors from the Haute Ecole de Musique. This summer, Viviana attended the 2023 Castleman Quartet Program, and the 60th annual Tibor Varga Summer Music Academy. She was a finalist in the 2023 Inspired by KPAC competition and continues to foster her love for solo recital playing by creating and performing her own recital programs. Viviana has a passion for teaching and has coached student chamber ensembles since the age of 15 under the guidance of her mother, a retired Suzuki teacher. In 2022, she started her own private violin studio after completing her Suzuki teacher training.
