Virginia Huchton Lamboley is a registered Suzuki Violin and Viola teacher in Clearwater Florida. She performs in the Gainesville Chamber Orchestra, The Villages Philharmonic , The Ocala Symphony and other orchestras in Florida, as well as teaching private Suzuki Violin and Viola and also a private school program of Suzuki Violin for the DePaul School for Dyslexia in Clearwater, FL.
Virginia started studying piano at age 6, and viola at 11 years old. Her lifelong goal has been to teach music to young students, as well as perform in orchestra and chamber music.
As she was attending college at Brigham Young University in 1974—1976, she had her first experience with Suzuki by playing in an orchestra to accompany young Suzuki students at a recital.
After majoring in viola performance at Texas Tech University, Virginia Huchton moved to Midland, TX where she was sponsored by a Suzuki Family to attend a workshop with John Kendall. This was the start of her lifelong love of teaching the Suzuki way!
Teacher Training at Texas Christian University, the University of Texas at El Paso, and the Colorado Suzuki Institute followed, where she was registered for Violin Volumes 1—5 and observed many viola classes and Teacher Training sessions.
After teaching and playing in Midland, TX for over 20 years, Mrs. Huchton moved to Clearwater, FL. After the death of her first husband, she was eventually remarried to a cellist named Lyle Lamboley. They perform as principal cellist and violist in several Florida based symphony orchestras, as well as teaching in the String Things Suzuki Studio in Clearwater, FL.
