Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, violinist Terra Warger performs and teaches in concert halls and studios across the States and Europe. Currently living near Dallas, Texas, she performs with Dallas area orchestras. Ms. Warger is a doctoral student and Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas studying modern violin with Felix Olschofka. She studies baroque violin with Cynthia Roberts at UNT and is an active member of the thriving early music community in the Dallas area. Her interests in early music began while studying at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, where she studied modern violin with Violaine Melançon and baroque violin with Risa Browder. Ms. Warger was a member of the Baltimore Baroque Band, and performed a wide range of early music-both chamber and large ensemble. Active also in the contemporary music scene, she has most recently performed with Sounds Modern, a Dallas-based new music ensemble, at the Museum of Modern Art, in Fort Worth. In 2017, Ms. Warger was invited to perform American contemporary works for string quartet at the Festival de musique de Paques, in Deauville, France. Her love of teaching can be rooted in her own Suzuki violin upbringing, and in her undergraduate teacher, Dr. Katherine McLin at Arizona State University. Ms. Warger maintains an active Suzuki violin studio, with emphasis in Dr. Suzuki’s philosophy of the development and nurturing of the human spirit through music.
