I have been a Suzuki teacher for more than 40 years teaching violin, viola, and cello lessons.
I am a Lifetime member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, as well as the Suzuki Association of Minnesota & the American String Teachers Association.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from the University of Minnesota with an emphasis on violin, viola, and cello. I studied violin with: Dr. Richard Massmann of the University of Minnesota and Richard Adams of the Minnesota Orchestra. I studied viola with John Tartaglia of the Minnesota Orchestra, and cello with Tanya Remenikova of the University of Minnesota.
I have attended every SAA conference of my career and have taken teacher training with Nancy Lokken, Alice Joy Lewis, Doris Preucil, Ronda Cole, Joan Rooney, Sonja Zeithamel, Evelyn Hermann, Ronda Cole, Paul Landefeld, Katherine Wood and Nancy Jackson. I also taught my three children violin, viola & cello and attended countless institutes with them across the USA.
My private lessons are tailored to each student’s needs and strengths. We concentrate on sequential “small-chunk” progress. Review is key as well as polishing each song. I believe beautiful tone comes from correct and consistent posture. We have lots of fun during lessons while getting all the details down pat. “One step at a time”.
