Prof. Sondra Tammam

Recognized internationally as a pianist and pedagogue, Sondra Tammam has performed throughout the US, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. She has presented master classes, lectures and workshops on the Taubman Approach in the US, Austria, Israel, Montengro, France and Taiwan. Dorothy Taubman was her coach for more than 30 years, and subsequently Ms. Tammam co-directs the Taubman Festivals. She is an adjunct Professor at the Cali School of Music of Montclair State University. Ms. Tammam holds a M.M. from the Juilliard School where she studied with Rosina Lhevinne and Martin Canin and a B.M. from the Manhattan School of Music where she was a scholarship student of Dora Zaslavsky. Ms. Tammam was an Associate Professor of Piano at the Manhattan School of Music under Constance Keene. Among her many awards are first prize in the Paderewski Foundation, the Awerbuch International of PTC of NY, the Juilliard Concerto and the N.Y. Orchestral Society Competitions. Her debut recitals in Carnegie and Wigmore Halls and the Concertgebouw were sponsored by the Paderewski Foundation. Her chamber music performances have included concerts with members of the N.Y. Philharmonic at the Rose Hall of Lincoln Center and with orchestras in Italy and the US. She has broadcast live on WQXR and WNYC in NY and AFN Radio in Germany, and has appeared on WCBS, WOR and PBS television. Ms. Tammam was selected to be listed in Who’s Who of American Women.
