Sarah Wilson

Sarah Wilson is a Suzuki kid at heart. She began playing the cello just before her fourth birthday and continued Suzuki lessons with Susan Baer through 6th grade. She trained in the Suzuki Method with Pat D’Ercole, Barbara Wampner, Jean Dexter, Melissa Kraut, and Rick Mooney. She was a recipient of Shinichi Suzuki/American Suzuki Foundation Teacher Training Scholarship. Now with more than 15 years of teaching experience, she delights in the joys and challenges of sharing her love for cello with children. A committed educator, Sarah collaborates with fellow teachers for cello group classes.

Sarah Wilson holds a Master of Music in cello performance from Rice University, Shepherd School of Music where she was a student of Norman Fischer, and a Bachelor of Music in cello performance from Oberlin College Conservatory of Music where she was a student of Darrett Adkins. Now she performs as a tenured member of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic and as a chamber musician throughout Colorado.

Sarah teaches out of her homes in the Old North End near downtown Colorado Springs and in the LacAmora area of Broomfield, Colorado. She shares her life with her dog Gyorgy and cat Louie.
