Sarah Quinn
Violin Teacher
Sarah Quinn (they/them/theirs) began learning violin at a young age from fellow Suzuki teacher Beth Scott and is currently growing their own private violin studio in Manlius, NY, for students of all ages. They have performed with several orchestras and chamber ensembles in the Central NY region and Savannah, GA, over the past 10 years.
Sarah is a graduate of Fayetteville-Manlius High School. While they attended, they were concertmaster for the Symphony Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra, and the Pit Orchestra (for the production of Titanic).
Sarah has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design where they studied interior design and architecture. As a lifelong student of Dr. Suzuki’s philosophies, they enjoy the pursuit of self-improvement through the arts and take every opportunity to learn from the people they meet, including other Suzuki teachers. Sarah’s years of experience with the various artistic disciplines has given them an appreciation for the art of learning and the ways art (e.g. the art of music) can enrich a person’s life and the lives of those around them.
Sarah’s students experience both private and group instruction, allowing them to develop their individual skill as well as gain experience playing with others of all levels. Students will learn violin in the same way they learn their native language: through listening, encouragement, and repetition. Instruction is broken down into small steps, building on a foundation to grow a student’s ability gradually, with a focus on creating a beautiful sound and cultivating a love of music.
