Mrs. Sarah B. Lang

Sarah Lang began studying Suzuki violin at the age of ten with Joanne Bath and began teaching when she was fourteen. Sarah attended Furman University for undergraduate school, where she studied music (violin and voice) as a Daniel Music Scholar. After obtaining her master’s degree in music education / music therapy from East Carolina University, Sarah worked in Atlanta as a music therapist with the special education students in Clayton County. Sarah later moved to Arkansas, where she served as a music therapist in an inpatient geriatric psychiatric unit in a hospital. In 2004, Sarah obtained a Graduate Certificate in Suzuki Pedagogy from East Carolina University.

For seventeen years, Sarah lived and taught Suzuki violin in Greenville, NC, where she was a frequent performer and workshop clinician. During that time, Sarah published articles in the American Suzuki Journal and taught at Suzuki Institutes and camps across the southeastern United States. But perhaps her greatest joy (and challenge!) was being the Suzuki parent of Daniel and Benjamin.

Sarah Lang moved to Fargo, North Dakota, in July of 2013. Ms. Lang performed professionally with the Fargo Moorhead Symphony Orchestra and maintained a private Suzuki violin studio in her home. Ms Lang performed also with various ensembles in the F-M community including the Fargo Moorhead Opera and North Dakota State University. As a hobby, Ms. Lang is learning to play the Norwegian handingfele ( hardanger fiddle) and is an active member of the Fargo Spelemannslag.

In August of 2020, Sarah moved to Cary, NC. She is currently setting up her studio there and looking for new students!
