Sarah is an active music educator and performer in the east valley. For the past several years, she has taught violin privately, in group classes, and in the elementary classroom. She loves personalizing high quality instruction and training students to work hard and develop strong practice habits. Her goal is to encourage students to love music and share that joy with others!

Miss Gripp is currently a member of the Symphony of the Southwest and is a former member of the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra. In addition to these classical ensembles, she enjoys dabbling in pop, jazz, and folk music, including as the mandolinist in Pickin’ in the Pines Bluegrass Festival’s 2017 band competition runner-up band. She also enjoys serving with the worship band in her church.

Under the instruction of Dr. Louise Scott, Ms. Shelley Rich, and Dr. Karin Hallberg, Sarah graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelors of Music Education (Instrumental), a Bachelors in Music Performance (Violin) performance, and a Suzuki Pedagogy Certificate. During her time as a university student, she was a 2016 winner of the NAU Concerto Competition and held concertmaster and assistant concertmaster positions in both the NAU Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra. In addition, Sarah attended the Masterworks Festival in Cedarville, Ohio (summer 2016) and the Music in the Mountains Conservatory in Durango, Colorado (summer 2014).

Miss Gripp began the study of violin at age seven with Yulia Hess. Though she did not like music at first, because of the dedication of this first instructor and many after, Miss Gripp has seen firsthand the growth and musical fulfillment that can take place with a dedicated teacher and strives to continue this legacy with her students.
