Mrs. Sara Cumming

Sara Cumming is a cello teacher and performer based in Chelsea, Michigan. Her teaching experience during the last three decades includes running private cello studios in Scotland and Australia.

In addition to her teaching, Sara has freelanced with the Houston Symphony, Melbourne Symphony, and the movie recording industry in Melbourne. Sara is the founder and cellist of Chelsea Chamber Players, a non-profit organization presenting free chamber music performances.

Sara’s teachers include Laurien Laufman, Shirley Trepel, and Anthony Elliott. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Cello performance from the University of Illinois and her Master of Music degree from Rice University.
