Robin Johnson
Violin Teacher, Parent
Robin Johnson joined the Suzuki Music Program of Los Angeles in 1992 and has been affiliated with it since that time—as a student, parent, teacher, and is now one of its Co-Directors. She studied violin in the “traditional” method from fourth grade through college. She was in the Symphony Orchestra at Brigham Young University.
Mrs. Johnson received her Suzuki Teacher Training in Violin Books 1—3 from nationally-renowned Suzuki Teacher Trainer Liz Arbus while attending summer Suzuki Institutes. She has attended numerous teacher training seminars offered through the Suzuki Music Association of California/Los Angeles Branch, as well as attending S.A.A. International Conferences. She has also received training in Kaleidoscopes, Kodaly, and Music Mind Games, which are additional methods of teaching violin and theory to young children.
Mrs. Johnson teaches in her home in Montrose, CA and also in students’ homes, depending on the location. She graduated from Brigham Young University in 1982 with a BA in Human Resource Development, and in 1984 with an MBA. She received a Master in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania in May 2020, studying with Drs. Martin Seligman, Angela Duckworth, Karen Reivich, and others.
