Nightingale grew up in a Suzuki environment. Debuted public singing at 3; started piano lessons at 5. Worked with many renown vocalists, instrumentalists and conductors—Fernandi, Govoni and Ferroni from Italy and Jan and Beta Popper, Rachel Barton Pine, Michael Davis; staff accompanist/soprano for Taipei Opera House, Voice Professors’ League, Music Teachers’ Chorus, etc. A highly sought after collaborative pianist since 4th grade, an adjudicator & clinician. Faculty member of American College of Musicians; judge for National Piano Guild Auditions. Hall Of Fame, Piano Guild. Winner of many piano and voice competitions. Full scholarships/teaching assistantships throughout all degrees. National Dean’s List. Master’s degrees: Piano; Voice; Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music. A “grandchild piano student” of Rosina Lhevinne and Dorothy Taubman. Specialized in Taubman Technique. Teaching experiences: Eastern Michigan University; Flint Institute of Music; The University of Arkansas at Little Rock; Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ (now Ryder University). Suzuki piano teacher since 1987. SAA Certified Suzuki Piano Teacher Trainer. Active as a collaborative pianist, coach, and choir director. Past Vice-president and president, Columbus Music Teachers Association. Conducts/serves as chairman for Columbus Chinese Chorus, Columbus Ohio. Has been serving on the Kodály Association of the Southern California since moving to California .
