Ms. Molly E. White
Violin, Guitar Teacher
Molly started Suzuki violin at age six and studied through high school with Idell Low. She earned a degree from UCSC in Latin American Studies and guitar, and earned her Master’s from UT Austin in Ethnomusicology with an emphasis in Latin American folk music. She began teaching world music and music fundamentals at L.A. Trade Tech College in 2002 and performed with the Cal Arts Balinese gamelan, Burat Wangi, and the Eastern European Folk Ensemble, Nevenka.
She is a Co-Director for the Suzuki Music Program of Los Angeles, where she teaches group repertoire and music theory classes for Suzuki guitar and violin students, as well as an Old-Time fiddle class. Molly is a music specialist for several local preschools, and she teaches individual lessons to children and their parents at her home studios in Sherman Oaks and Encino (also on Zoom), and she is currently accepting violin and guitar students (ages 5 and older).
Molly has three recordings of original music: B is for Baroness, Peach & Knife, and Peach & Spoon, a collection of songs for children.
