Melanie Kuperstein
Violin Teacher
Melanie has been teaching in the Columbia area for the past 10 years. Growing up in Baltimore County, Melanie has played violin since age 5 and piano since age 6. She attended the University of Maryland for Bachelors degrees in violin performance and music education and a Masters degree in violin performance. Melanie attended the National Orchestral Institute for several summers and the National Repertory Orchestra in 2014 and 2015. In 2015, Melanie was co-principal second of the National Repertory Orchestra and performed a solo with the orchestra. Melanie is also a member of the Maryland Symphony in Hagerstown, MD and subs with a variety of other orchestras in the area. She currently teaches around 35 students ranging in ages from 4 to adult but has taught as young as 3 years old through adult. One of her students even won first place in an unaccompanied Bach competition at the age of 11.
