Mark Walker
Guitar Teacher
Mark Walker took private lessons in classical guitar from Christopher Johnson, then a member of the Music faculty at the University of South Dakota. Mark continued to play guitar through the years. Along the way, he and his wife, Twyla, had their children take Suzuki string lessons (violin, viola, and cello). The entire family benefited from the success of the Suzuki Method. Some of Mark’s favorite musical experiences were accompanying his daughters at high school and college recitals.
Mark retired early from a career as an actuary. This would allow him time to pursue other interests, especially classical guitar. He is actively pursuing training and registration in teaching guitar with the Suzuki Method. Thus, he is moving from the role of Suzuki parent (and now grandparent) to Suzuki teacher. His goal is to make the process as enjoyable and fruitful as other Suzuki teachers made it for his family.
