Linda Stone, a Los Angeles native, has played violin professionally and has taught violin and viola for over 30 years. Her principal violin teachers were Alice Schoenfeld, Lori Ulanova, and Michael Tseitlin.

Ms. Stone’s academic credits include the School of Music Preparatory Division of the University of Southern California from 1966-1974, Chapman University, B. Mus. 1980 in Violin Performance, and California State University at Los Angeles, M. A. 1989 in violin performance. Ms. Stone is currently a member of the Long Beach Symphony, the Santa Barbara Symphony, the Chamber Orchestra of the South Bay, and the Los Angeles Master Chorale Sinfonia. She has also performed a wide variety of commercial music over the years.

Linda resides in Pasadena with her husband, Jim Marshall, and their dogs Charlie and Juliet.

Ms. Stone is on the faculty of the Pasadena Suzuki Music Program, and is a member of the American String Teachers’ Association, the Music Teachers Association of California-Pasadena Branch, the Suzuki Association of the Americas, and the Suzuki Music Association of California-Los Angeles Branch. Her Suzuki teacher trainers include Linda Fiore, Susan Kempter, Rick Mooney, Ed Sprunger, Joseph Kaminsky, Elizabeth Stuen-Walker, Linda Stieg, Cathryn Lee, Kimberly Meier-Sims, and Barbara Barber, many of whom trained with Dr. Suzuki in Japan.
