Ms. Leah Roblin
Guitar Teacher
I began my classical guitar studies under the direction of Michael Newman at Mannes College of Music, while playing in rock bands throughout the 1990’s and 2000’s in NYC. From 2003-2006, I worked at the Thurnauer School of Music in Tenafly, NJ under the direction of Seth Himmelhoch. In their Suzuki school, I gave lessons to students aged 4 and up, created small group classes for older students, and served as the accompanist for the Suzuki group classes.
After receiving my Masters Degree in Music Education from (Hunter College) and a NYS teaching certificate, I was offered the position of Guitar Director at Suffern Middle School, New York. After several years, I entered the world of international teaching, and I have taught students at schools around the world in the UK, Spain, Jordan, Singapore and China, always being mindful of incorporating the Suzuki philosophy.
In addition to my Suzuki certification, I am also certified in Kodaly pedagogy, AP Music Theory and have extensive training as an International Baccalaureate (IB MYP/DP) teacher (ages 14-18). I am also registered with the European Suzuki Association (Level 1).
I have been teaching Suzuki guitar to young students (and individualized courses for adults) since 2002, and I accept students age 4 and older. Online lessons are also available.
