Mrs. Laura Otto

Laura Otto, Director of Youth Music Illinois Suzuki School of Music and Conductor for YMI Dolce String Ensemble is an active music educator in Central Illinois. She earned her B.M. In Violin performance from Bradley University, serving as concertmaster of the Bradley Symphony Orchestra and studying with Marcia Henry Liebenow. Laura was also a winner of the Concerto Aria Solo Competition and the Presser Scholar Award. Laura also did graduate work at Illinois State University and studied with Dr. Sarah Gentry. As a freelance violinist/violist, Laura has performed with the Peoria Symphony Orchestra, Heartland Festival Orchestra, and studied at the Aria International Music Academy, Nebraska Chamber Music Institute, and Domain Forget International Music Academy. 
Laura has been teaching violin lessons for nearly 25 years in the Peoria area. She enjoys teaching students as young as four years old and founded the YMI Suzuki School of Music which now has over 70 students enrolled and 4 teachers on staff.
