Kumiko Imamura

Kumiko Imamura has been described as “a skillful instrumentalist and shrewd programmer” by New York Concert Review, at her NY debut recital.
She performed at Little Orchestra Society’s Vivaldi at Venice series at Alice Tully Hall, Noon Day Concert Series at Trinity Church at the Wall Street, Kawai Concert, Boesendorfer Concert in Japan, Vancouver Early Music Festival, subscription concerts of Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, Staten Island Symphony, New Brunswick Chamber Orchestra, Colonial Symphony, New York Symphonic Ensemble, and New Amsterdam Symphony.

She taught at Rutgers University Mason Gross School of Arts as part time lecturer, Allegheny College Summer Festival, Rutgers Community Music Program(former Extension Division), and Dutchess Community College, and presented her students as winners of numerous competitions such as Renee Fischer Competition, J. Y. Park Competition, CT Bach Competition, Chopin International Competition of Hartford, NLPA International Young Artists, Deborah Kahan Competition, and Colorado Suzuki Institute Honors Recital, to perform at Carnegie’s Weil Recital Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, Steinway Hall, The Villar Center for the Arts, etc. She received Distinguished Teacher Award from MEANJ for 8 times while she was in NJ.

Kumiko received degrees from Senzoku Music College(BM), Manhattan School of Music(MM,
Professional Studies Certificate), and studied further at Rutgers University Mason Gross Arts School.
Currently she teaches at Suzuki Music School of Westport and Orange as Head of Piano Department, and also serves on the broad of Connecticut State Music Teachers Association Fairfield Chapter as President and Deborah Kahan Competition Chair.
