She has also taught violin at Suzuki workshops and institutes in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Tennessee.
Having grown up in a family of musicians, from her youth, Kristine studied violin with her father, David Becker, a graduate of the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. She later studied with Robert Schubert, a graduate of Hartt School of Music and the Manhattan School of Music. She has enjoyed playing chamber music both with her father and four sisters.
Ms. Boike earned her Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from West Virginia University where she studied with Rex Conner. Later she was a graduate assistant under the esteemed Suzuki pedagogue John Kendall at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, where she received her Master of Music degree in violin performance and completed her long-term Suzuki teacher training.
Performance opportunities are provided with the Riverside Suzuki Strings by holding studio recitals, playing for community events, and performing at senior living centers. Kristine strives to instill the philosophy of Dr. Suzuki in her students and parents by educating them in the process of learning in a nurturing environment and by introducing concepts in small steps for successful outcomes. Kristine resides in Berwyn with her three daughters and cat Leia. She enjoys singing in her church choir and is an avid runner.
