Ken Stancer was born in and has lived his whole life in the state of Wisconsin. He spent childhood
growing up on a farm north of Madison, Wisconsin. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and received a Bachelor of Music degree there in 1986, with certification to teach Choral and General Music. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received a Master of Music Education degree there in 2002.

Ken has been teaching private piano and organ since college days, turning to the use of the Suzuki method piano literature in 1987. He retired from teaching elementary general music 2019. He teaches Suzuki piano at the Monroe Street Arts Center in Madison. Additionally he teaches organ and provides coaching for church organists desiring to improve their skills. He assists with pipe organ tuning and maintenance in the Madison area.

Additionally, he is music director and organist at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Madison where his conducts the Chancel Choir, Choristers, Recorder Ensemble, Handbell Choir and is the primary planner of worship. Outside of music, his interests are gardening, biking, swimming, and time outdoors.
