Kathy Kienzle teaches at Studio Fidicina in Minneapolis. Previously she taught at MacPhail Center for Music in Minneapolis from 1980, and in the Suzuki department there from 1989-2014. Prior to 1979 she lived in Duluth, and taught at the U. of Minnesota, Duluth and the U of Wisconsin, Superior.
Kathy also taught at the Eastern Music Festival, summers, from 1970-88 and at the University of Kansas from 1984-87. She is currently on the faculties of the U. of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and Augsburg College.
She received her Bachelors degree in harp from Juilliard and went on to the University of Arizona for a Masters degree. In 1976 she received the 3rd prize in the Israel International Harp Competition in Jerusalem. In 2020 Kathy retired after 27 years as the principal harp of the Minnesota Orchestra.
In summer 2014, Kathy became a Suzuki harp teacher trainer.
