Dr. Julia Banzi

Julia Banzi is Suzuki-Guitar.com in Portland, Oregon.
Music learning should be fun and also touch our hearts! 
I hold a Ph.D. in music and teach a joyful approach to making music on the guitar to children and adults in Portland, Oregon and online via Zoom.  In addition to guiding musicians in classical and flamenco guitar styles, I am also a certified Suzuki Guitar instructor.

We have weekly individual lessons and bi-monthly group lessons where we celebrate and share our accomplishments and encourage one another.
I have a degree in music (Ph.D) and also teach at Lewis & Clark College, University of Portland and Portland State University..

I toured internationally with my group the Al Andalus Ensemble for decades where I composed and performed on the guitar. Several of my students have gone on to become quite famous such as Elliott Smith..
I enjoy working with all sorts of learners and empowering them to have music as part of their lives.
I am fluent in Spanish and conversant in French.
