Mr. John Cesar

John Cesar is a classical guitarist from Bergen County New Jersey. Originally wanting to be a rock guitarist that soon changed when John discovered the classical guitar only a year before it was time to audition for a college music program. As a performer John has performed as a soloist as well as in various chamber ensembles. Because of this John has not only performed works from the standard classical guitar repertoire but also taken part in multiple world premier’s.

During his studies John had the opportunity to perform in master classes for some of the leading figures in classical guitar in solo and chamber music settings. These artists include; Jason Vieaux, The Newman Oltman Duo, Andrew York, Scott Tennent, Jorge Caballero, Carlos Barbosa Lima, and Oscar Ghiglia. 

Outside of being an active performer and instructor John has produced recordings and interviews of emerging artists, founded and managed a concert series, and creates social media content about classical guitar as well as a wide range of musical topics

John received his undergraduate degree in music performance from the John J. Cali School Of Music of Montclair State University. Immediately after graduation he went on to receive his masters degree in at The Hartt School of Music working under the instruction of award winning classical guitarist, Christopher Ladd.
