Ms. Jody Harmon

Recipient of the prestigious “2003 Massachusetts Studio Teacher of the Year” Award (Massachusetts ASTA), violinist Jody Harmon maintains a vibrant violin studio in Westford, MA with 39 students (ranging from beginning Suzuki students to advanced concerto players). Jody has developed numerous fun, user-friendly materials and recordings to help students explore theory, improvisation and creativity. Jody is also author of Improvise and co-author (with jazz violinist John Blake) of Jazz Improvisation Made Easy (both widely acclaimed). Jody is a frequent clinician at workshops, Institutes, and Conferences. Jody’s educational background includes an MM in Violin Performance (Miami Univ.); extensive Suzuki teacher training; Orff-Schulwerk training; and Jazz Studies with Jamey Aebersold, Rufus Reid, and John Blake.
