Jewel Taylor

Cello Teacher, Student

Jewel Taylor

Jewel is a classically trained cellist. Her mom gave her a cello at the age of three and she hasn’t set it down since. She studied at the Brigham Young University School of Music, receiving a Bachelor of Arts with an Emphasis in Music in 2024. She has had many cello teachers throughout her life and recognizes the influence that they have had, not only on her cello playing, but on her life as well. She has participated in orchestras since the age of 11, and was most recently a member of the BYU Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Christian Smith, where she sat as assistant principal, and the BYU Baroque Ensemble, under the direction of Alexander Woods.

She loves reading, camping, hiking, sewing, spending time with friends and family, and playing duets with her husband, who is a vocalist and pianist.
