Jennifer Berg is an active instructor and performer in Michigan.  Originally from the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, she completed her Bachelors of Music at the University of Minnesota with Sally O’Reilly as well as Suzuki training with Mark Bjork and her Masters of Music at the University of Michigan with Stephen Shipps. 

A versatile educator, Jennifer has extensive experience teaching individuals, chamber ensembles, groups, and classes. She currently maintains a large, private violin/viola studio in Farmington Hills, MI. She is also a member of the Ann Arbor Symphony String Quartet, designing and presenting programs for schools and special events and serves as a Music Mentor with Ann Arbor Symphony’s Carnegie Hall Link-Up Program, visiting and preparing classrooms for interactive orchestral concerts. Previously, Jennifer was a Sphinx Overture Program Instructor and has taught at Interlochen, Expressions Music Academy, and the Cultural Arts Strings Camp.  

An avid orchestral musician and performer, Jennifer is currently a member of the Ann Arbor Symphony and Flint Symphony and performs regularly with other professional ensembles. She has been concertmaster of the Kenwood Symphony, University of Michigan Orchestras, and University of Minnesota Symphony Orchestras. Summer seasons have brought her to the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, Colorado College Festival in Colorado Springs, Chautauqua Institution in New York, Bravo! String Institute in Minneapolis, the International Music Academy in Pilsen, Czech Republic, and the Conductors Retreat of Medomak as a member of the resident string quintet.   As a soloist, Jennifer has performed with the Ann Arbor Camerata and has won the MNSOTA Competition as well as being a finalist in the MTNA National Competition in Toronto and the Schubert Club Competition.
