Mrs. Irmi Miller
Recorder Teacher
Irmi Miller (Ph.D. in Chemistry, 1990 Stuttgart, Germany) divides her time between teaching an inorganic chemistry laboratory at the university and teaching Recorder with the Suzuki Method to children and adult students in her private studio in Ames, Iowa. Growing up in Germany she studied Soprano, Alto, and Bass Recorders. Irmi has trained extensively with Katherine White at Summer Suzuki Institutes in the United States. She has also taken masterclasses on recorder performance with Cléa Galhano, Lisette Kielson, Patrick O’Malley and Marion Verbruggen. Irmi is the wife of Gordon J. Miller, professor of chemistry at Iowa State University, and mother of three children, who have studied Suzuki Violin, Recorder and Piano.
