Henry Flurry (www.HenryFlurry.com) is a Suzuki piano & composition teacher and composer who maintains a private studio in Prescott, Arizona. He and his wife Maria Flurry are co-founders of Chaparral Arts, Inc., a non-profit supporting the performing arts in Arizona. They also co-founded and ran the Chaparral MusicFest for nine years, which presented concerts and music education opportunities to the northern Arizona community. With Dr. Laura Tagawa, he co-founded and co-directed the Chaparral MusicFest Suzuki Academy, which offers to the Southwest community an affordable Suzuki Institute for violin and piano students. He is founder of the Arizona Philharmonic, a collaborative professional orchestra based in Prescott, AZ. His formal music training includes studies at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, Northwestern University School of Music, the European American Musical Alliance of Paris, France, and the University of Birmingham, UK. Henry has taught for the University of Michigan School of Music, Yavapai Community College and Prescott College. On a concert of his orchestral music, Flurry’s piano concerto was premiered by Steinway Artist James D’León and Arizona Philharmonic in August 2018. He and his wife Maria regularly perform together across Arizona as the duo Sticks and Tones. Henry served as a Roster Artist of the Arizona Commission on the Arts for 12 years.
