Ms. Heidi Steinman Tuinstra

Hello! I am a Northwest Indiana native, as I grew up in Highland IN and I’m now living in Munster IN. I started learning Suzuki method violin at the age of 6 and went on to be the first middle school aged student in the Northwest Indiana Youth Orchestra—at a time when it was only open to high schoolers.

I went on to earn a full scholarship to Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington IL. I played with their Camerata and Chamber Music group. We went on many tours as a group. Domestically, we toured cities in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan. And abroad, we took a three week trip and toured many cities in the then USSR, Germany, and England.

I went on to play in many small groups, some local rock bands, did some studio work, and as of late, I have been playing with the South Suburban College Orchestra.

My violin studio is in my home in Munster IN, where I give in-person private and group lessons. Lessons include elements from my training in Music Mind Games and Musikgarten.
