Dr. Heather Howard- Hannock

Dr. Heather Howard-Hannock earned a Doctor of Music Education degree at Liberty University, a Master of Music Education degree at Old Dominion University, and a Bachelor of Music at Liberty University with teacher licensure. She holds a Postgraduate Professional License from the Commonwealth of Virginia in Instrumental, Vocal, and Choral Music PREK-12. She received Kodaly Music training from James Madison University and is Kodaly Music certified (a singing-based approach to Music Education). She is a Suzuki-certified instructor and blends Suzuki and Kodaly approaches in her private music studio. Dr. Howard-Hannock has taught orchestra and vocal music at the elementary, middle, and high school levels in Newport News, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach Public Schools. She has taught private violin lessons in Virginia, California, and Germany. She is a member of the Organization of American Kodaly Educators and the Suzuki Association of Americas. Her current research includes investigating the Suzuki Triangle as an intervention for at-risk military children and their service member parent.
