Emily Kurlinski
Violin, Viola Teacher
Currently, Emily runs a Suzuki studio in the Walla Walla/College Place area. Her gray tuxedo cat, Tilly, seldom misses a lesson. (ミ❛ᆽ❛ミ)
Emily has coached chamber groups, led string orchestra rehearsals, and taught violin and viola lessons for more than a decade, working with students of wide-ranging age and background. Following a String Pedagogy course with Rebecca Henry, Emily completed Suzuki Books 1 & 2 training with James Hutchins and will continue her Suzuki teacher training in 2024 with Tracy Wiggins.
In addition to teaching, Emily performs regularly with orchestras and chamber ensembles locally and around the PNW. She holds a bachelor’s in Music Theory & Literature (violin concentration) from Southern Adventist University and a master’s in Viola Performance from the University of Maryland.
