Elaine Mylius
Trombone, Violin Teacher
Elaine Mylius began her musical training on the violin at the age of three, influenced by her mother and grandfather who were both violinists. Growing up in a musically supportive family, Elaine learned under the Suzuki method and enjoyed many enriching summers at Suzuki camps, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and participating in community youth orchestras with her brothers, who played cello and piano. At the age of 10 she started playing the trombone in band and went on to get her BA in trombone performance from The Ohio State University where she won the prestigious Scantland Scholarship Competition and graduated in 2016. She has performed professionally on both violin and trombone at countless events and in over 10 countries since 2015.
Elaine has 10+ years of teaching experience and brings deep passion and expertise to her teaching. Her approach is rooted in the Suzuki philosophy, emphasizing listening, repetition, and positive reinforcement to help students build a strong musical foundation. She is passionate about teaching and being a positive role model for her kids, teaching them essential life skills such as perseverance, loving kindness, and self confidence through learning to play the violin and trombone. Her mission is to foster a lifelong love of music in a nurturing and supportive environment.
