Christopher Pettit
Cello Teacher
Christopher teaches string students at Bell-Graham Elementary School and Wasco Elementary School in St. Charles CUSD 303. Christopher is also on the faculty of the Wheaton College Community School of the Arts, where he maintains a robust cello studio and teaches group classes. In addition, Christopher has a thriving home cello studio.
Christopher holds a Master of Music Education degree, Bachelor of Music Education degree, and Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Performance degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he worked and taught at the Illinois Summer Youth Music camp and received numerous teaching and performance awards. Christopher is currently attending Northern Illinois University for his doctoral studies.
He is certified by the Suzuki Association of the Americas to teach all levels of Suzuki Cello.
Christopher also enjoys playing his cello in a variety of settings: churches, weddings, casinos, musical pit orchestras, and more. You name it, he’s played it! Christopher started on the cello at an early age and honed his performance skills under the exemplary teaching of Carol Ourada, Dr. Tanya Carey, and Dmitry Kouzov.
