Chiara Ferrero
Violin Teacher
Chiara Ferrero is a Philadelphia-based violinist. She recently won a position as section violinist with the Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra and she freelances with different regional orchestras in Pennsylvania. She has also performed with orchestras and ensembles on the West Coast such as the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and the Arizona Baroque Ensemble.
Originally from Italy, she grew up learning the violin with the Suzuki method at the Italian Suzuki Institute in Torino studying with Lee Roberts and Antonio Mosca, founders of the Italian Suzuki School. Starting at the age of 7 years old, she had many opportunities of playing all across Italy in some of the most renowned concert halls with the Suzuki Orchestra, the youngest chamber orchestra in Europe.
Chiara is a certified Suzuki teacher. She runs a private studio in the greater Philadelphia area. Her students have gone on and become members in city youth orchestras, sit principal chairs in school ensembles, and were featured as solo players with their school orchestras.
Chiara is also cultivating a successful administrative career. She worked as artist manager and outreach coordinator for the Delaware-based Master Players Concert Series where she served as a liaison for some of today’s leading artists. She currently holds a position as Branch Coordinator for Settlement Music School at the Wynnefield Branch where she works closely with faculty members, families and staff.
Chiara earned a Master’s Degree in violin performance from the University of Delaware School of Music studying with Professor Xiang Gao and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance from the University of Arizona Fred Fox School of Music where she studied with Professor Tim Kantor.
During her free time, Chiara loves to hike, spend time outdoors and cook delicious food to share with her family and friends.
