Anna Majcherczyk
Violin
Born in Krakow (Poland), the violinist Anna Majcherczyk graduated with
honors from the Music Academy in Krakow and the University of Music
and Performing Arts in Graz. Within the framework of “Socrates-
Erasmus” Scholarship, she studied at the Universität Mozarteum in
Salzburg. As concertmaster of the Krakow Youth Philharmonic Orchestra,
she made her debut as a soloist with this orchestra at the Concertgebouw
in Amsterdam. As a member of various ensembles she has performed in
prestigious concert halls such as the Musikvereinsaal in Vienna, the
Berliner Philharmonie, Tonhalle Zürich and Paul Hall at the Juilliard
School. From 2012 to 2018 she was associate leader of the second violins
of the Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra. Currently based in New York, she
performs chamber and orchestral music, serves as concertmaster at the
New York Repertory Orchestra, guest concertmaster at the Bronx Opera,
the New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra and the Brooklyn Chamber
Orchestra, as well as Principal Second Violin with the Parlando Orchestra.
Aside from her duties as performer, she teaches extensively at the
Opportunity Music Project, Brooklyn Conservatory of Music and
Washington Heights Community Conservatory of Fine Arts. She has also
been trained in Suzuki Method and received her certification at the
School for Strings in New York.
