Anna Herrera is originally from Caracas, Venezuela. She is the owner and co-director of the Aurora Institute for the Arts, a Suzuki music school she and her husband founded in 2022 in Appleton, Wisconsin. She is also an active musician in the Fox Valley area.

Anna’s teaching expertise ranges from beginner students aged 4 to adults. Her teaching approach strives for educating the student not just in the dexterity of cello playing but also in the core fundamentals of love, compassion, responsibility, and kindness.

Before relocating to Appleton, Anna performed with many ensembles in the Baton Rouge area (Louisiana) such as Opéra Louisiane, Louisiana Sinfonietta, and the New Orleans Opera. She was the Assistant Principal Cellist of the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra and a member of the cello section of the Baton Rouge Symphony. Back in her hometown, she would also perform with the Venezuelan Symphony Orchestra and the Caracas Municipal Orchestra.

She holds a MM and a BM in Cello Performance from Louisiana State University, where she studied under the studio of Dennis Parker. Other career development certifications include Suzuki teacher training and CelloBello’s CelloKids Teacher Training Seminar.
