Andrew D'Allemand

Andrew d’Allemand has taught Suzuki violin since 2008 and is currently Co-Director and Treasurer at Suzuki Music Academy of Michigan. He began playing the violin at the age of three, studying with Mark Mutter at Suzuki Royal Oak where he went on tour to Disney World and England. He received his Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from the University of Michigan School of Music where he studied privately under Aaron Berofsky.

While at U of M, Andrew performed on William Bolcom’s album Songs of Innocence and of Experience which won the 2005 Grammy Award for Classical Album of the Year. He has also studied instrumental music education at Wayne State University.

In addition to playing the violin and viola, Andrew also plays guitar, piano, and writes music. He regularly arranges music for school-wide group ensembles for SMA’s annual holiday and themed year-end concerts. He has also arranged and recorded Suzuki pieces in a wide variety of genres from jazz to surf to punk and more!
