Amy was raised with the Suzuki Method beginning at age 5. Amy earned her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the University Of Utah. Amy has completed SAA Violin Teacher Training through Violin Volume 6, Violin Basics with Gabe Bolkosky, and the SPA course with Pat D’ercole. Her pedagogy style has been influenced by her mother Katherine Kunz (also a Suzuki Violin Teacher), Pat D’Ercole, Teri Einfeldt, Judy Bossuat, Linda Fiore, Barbara Barber, Ed Kreitman, Carrie Reuning-Hummel, Cathy Lee, and numerous others. Amy began her Suzuki Violin Studio in 2000 with eight students. It has grown to include up to thirty-five students ranging from age three to eighteen. She has been a faculty member of the Intermountain Suzuki String Institute from 2007-2015. In 2009, Amy was a faculty member for the Peaks to Plains Institute in Colorado. She has served as the Suzuki Association of Utah’s Salt Lake Violin Region Co-Coordinator from 2007-2009 & 2012-2015. Amy is excited to be on the parent-side of the Suzuki triangle with her three children. Amy currently lives in Fort Wayne, Indiana and enjoys being outside, cooking and has recently enjoyed participating in mud runs!
