Alice Buchanan is a multi instrumentalist, musician, and music instructor based in Brooklyn, New York. Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, music has long been a part of Alice’s life. Both of her parents are musicians: her father, a band director; her mother, a Suzuki Piano instructor. Alice’s own musical practice began early at age 5 when she began playing the violin. Her dedication to music began during her teens. It was during that time that Alice started playing guitar and singing in a rock band and also joined the Memphis Youth Symphony.

Her passion for both classical and rock and roll led her to study Music Education at Middle Tennessee State University. After graduating with her Bachelor’s of Music in Education in 2010, Alice returned to Memphis where she continued playing in bands and teaching violin, piano, and guitar.

After living and playing in Nashville for a few years, she is now a resident of Brooklyn, NY. Alice has become an active member of the city’s music scene and continues to teach music to students of all ages. During her spare time, you can find Alice practicing and teaching Pilates, snuggling with her cat Freddy, and making the most of the city’s culinary and music scenes.

Alice’s professional credentials include:

  • Registered Suzuki Violin Instructor up to Book 3
