Gavin George, nine-year-old Suzuki piano student of Mary Craig Powell, is the focus of a newly-released short documentary from the Prodigies series by THNKR.
The film follows Gavin as he prepares for a major performance for the Daughters of the American Revolution’s 121st Continental Congress at Constitution Hall in Washington, DC. Gavin performed Etude in F major, Opus 72, No. 6 by Moritz Moszkowski.
Featuring interviews with Gavin, his parents, Mary and Eric George, and Mary Craig Powell, the documentary showcases Gavin’s skill and dedication, his love for music, and the fact that he is still a playful and kind nine-year-old boy like many others.
Gavin was selected as the winner of the 2012 SAA Piano Concerto Competition and performed at the 2012 SAA Conference in Minneapolis, as well as on the Kaleidoscope Concert.
