She studied music performance at Eastman School of Music and Pacific Union College. Post college, Mrs. Henningson continued to further her pedagogy studies. Mrs. Henningson has maintained a private violin studio for 27 years, and has taught lessons in Dunwoody for the past 20. She served on the board of the Suzuki Association of Georgia for 11 years.
