Michael Strauss
Oberlin Conservatory of Music announced Tuesday that violist Michael Strauss, former student of William Preucil, Sr., and Suzuki Viola Volume 8 recording artist, is newly appointed Associate Professor of Viola and Chamber Music.
Dean of the Conservatory David H. Stull praised Michael as “an exceptionally gifted musician with a tremendous background.” Michael counts Mr. Preucil as one of his most influential teachers, the release states.

Congratulations, Michael! Though we have not met, I feel ‘as if I know you’, since I’ve known your teacher for many years. :-) Congratulations goes to Oberlin , too, for having chosen someone like you. My daughter graduated from Oberlin, so our family has a special fondness for the school. Congratulations to you both!
