Cheryl Cornell makes her home in Maryville, Missouri, which is basically in the middle of Nowhere. She is the director of the Northwest Missouri Suzuki Studio and is Adjunct Instructor of Strings at Northwest Missouri State University. She holds a BFA in Viola Performance from Pomona College and an MS in Music Therapy from the University of Kansas. She has trained with Kay Sloane, Marge Aber, Craig Timmerman, and Beth Titterington, among others.
Cheryl was the Conference Coordinator for the 2000 SAA Conference, and has written a number of articles for the Journal. In addition to teaching in Suzuki workshops, she frequently serves as a clinician and consultant in teaching music to children with special needs and in performance anxiety management. And…she has been known to teach a class or two of fiddling!
