Marti Frantz began piano instruction at age five and cello lessons at age ten as a traditional student. She has been a Suzuki cello teacher for 30+years. Marti was introduced to the Suzuki Method in 1980 when she began her sons on violin with one of this country’s earliest Suzuki trained violin teachers, Eleanor Stanlis. Alongside Mrs. Stanlis, Marti established a Suzuki school in 1985 that evolved into a community school of music offering Suzuki piano, violin, viola, cello, guitar, harp and flute. The school now employs over 20 artist faculty members (seven alums) and serves over 1200 students. As director Marti organizes and administrates all programs of the school which now also include Prelude: Early Childhood Music Education programs, traditional instrumental and voice programs.
