Marilyn Taggart
Marilyn Taggart has been a pianist since age five, apiano teacher since 1965,and a Suzuki piano teacher since1978. As an undergraduate she was part of a select group of pianists who studied with concert pianist Ozan Marsh and his wife,Patricia Benkman. They both had a particular interest in working with pedaling to enhance a piece, and would do this often in their well known Master Classes at Chautauqua Institution in the summer school program. In graduate school,MS.Taggart worked with the Hungarian pianist Bela Nagy in an intensive repertoire/master class setting ,again ,with a great deal of attention paid to pedaling -particularly in the music of Bartok.
