Anne Marie Olson
Anne Marie Olson teaches piano at The Music Academy in Rockford, IL, where she also accompanies the Suzuki string program. In June of 2006 she traveled to Japan with Music Academy Suzuki string and flute students. She also teaches piano and chamber music at Kankakee Valley Piano Camp, Bourbonnais, IL. She has been guest clinician and teacher for the Columbia Talent Education Association in Missouri, MacPhail Center for Music in Minneapolis, Blue Lake Fine Suzuki institute in Michigan, Green Mountain Suzuki Institute in Vermont, and the Suzuki program at Northern Illinois University. She was a session presenter at the 2010 and ‘12 Suzuki Conferences in Minneapolis. Her first piano teacher for many years was her father, Bruce Headlee; she currently studies with Bruce Berr of Chicago. She has written for Keyboard Companion Magazine, Clavier Companion Magazine, American Suzuki Journal, and American Music Teacher Magazine. She is a performing artist for the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center in Rockford and pianist for the Jane Addams Trio, in residence at The Music Academy.
