Alador Bereketab
Alador Bereketab is a recent high school graduate from Canterbury High School in the Strings Music Program where she specialized in violin performance. She began playing the violin and piano at the age of five. This year, Alador is beginning her undergraduate studies at McMaster University in the Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) Program. Alador advocates for accessibility and inclusivity for not only music programs, but for the Ottawa Carleton District School board as well. She leads workshops within Ottawa, with the goal to bring about much-needed change. Over the years, Alador has performed in numerous ensembles and orchestras as well as various events across Ottawa. She has volunteered at the National Arts Centre Tune Town Festival where she introduced youth in the community to the beauty of music. Alador worked for the Ottawa Carleton District School Board as a Research Assistant as part of the Equity Division, revising and modifying equity policies while developing initiatives that help increase education accessibility for Black youth in the school board.
