Wishing
The joy of music is exemplified in this beautiful video of over 450 students singing Wishing at the 2nd Suzuki Encuentro in Morelia, Mexico, May 2015. Conducted by Ernesto “Tato” Garcia Velasco, this performance was part of the final festival concert that featured violin, viola, cello, flute, harp, guitar, and piano students.
Wishing is a special piece Dr. Suzuki wrote for students to sing and play for their parents. Japanese students first performed it at the 1967 Annual Concert in Tokyo and was originally written for violin, voice, and piano. A string quartet arrangement was published in the 1998 SAA Minijournal.
